The sad truth for me is, my engine guard has saved me thousands of $$$! It doesn't take long for bike paint and body repairs to kill a thousand bucks........ But If ya take yours off, I'll really enjoy looking at your bike.

I took mine off 7 years ago when I built some brackets to move the floor boards forward 2 inches.
Now yah got me all paranoid so I might have to put it back on
I don't know if it really makes much difference, what all that I've read about how effective the engine guards are makes me think that they are more ornamental. About the only real function is for highway pegs, highway lights, mount lowers or make into an oil cooler.
Would be nice if they were of more solid gauge steal or stainless even then they might not fold up so quickly in a roll over.
