I would look at the Andrews 26 and go with the gear drive. Are you going 103???

I only have experience with the 255's, but I am very pleased with them. They have more lope at idle, come on hard with alot of torque and make pretty reasonable power across the band. Of course, if 50 people answer this there will be at least 30 different answers and everyone will be right....for their circumstances anyway.

07 has the good tensioners and weak crank. Personally would stay away from geardrive.
Do some research on the Andrews 54's,.... many happy campers run that cam. Great low end grunt, nice power in the upper ranges too. Quiet on the valve train, very well mannered cam.
255s are a good cam. It just depends on the way you really ride and not some ideal riding range. Do you like to pop throttle off lights, bang it on the highway, ride wide open all the time, take on any and all comers. Be honest with yourself. Good Luck

Andrew 21 or SE 255. Already have her broke down, might as well put it some new cams to bring up the TQ to make her more 2 up friendly. Which ones?
07 Ultra, SE AIR, VANCE AND HANES TRU DUALS, SERT.
thank you
The 255 is a popular cam for baggers because of its excellent low-end characteristics without increasing compression ratio, but it does not make prodigious peak-HP numbers. In fact, the increase will likely be only 4-5hp, so if you spend a lot of time above 4500 rpm and/or do a lot of drag racing, this is not the best cam choice. OTOH if you want the power in the low-end and midrange it works very well in an otherwise-stock TC96, and after about two years of deliberation that was the direction I went for my '07.
Before making the decision I contacted Andrews about the 21 or 26, and was told neither would deliver what I was looking for. My criterion was to move the TQ curve up wiithout shifting it to the right with no averse affect on the extreme low-end. He said the 21 was too much like the stock cams and didn't think I would see much of an improvement. He also said the 26 worked well in the TC88/95 but was not ideal for the TC96. I thanked him and moved on.
DIY and you can come in between $200-300 if you reuse the stock pushrods, which is a nice bang-for-the-buck upgrade in my book. See my write-up on the cam job here. Be advised that the TD's you have installed will hurt low-end performance somewhat, but the 255's will make up for that loss and then some. To me the two don't go together, because you have one component that decreases low-end TQ and another that increases it. The 255's work very well with stock head pipes and the Fuel Moto Power Package, which is my setup, and I have no doubts they would work well with a 2-into-1 system, too.

The Andrews 54 cam is a mild grind that produces exceptional mid range torque with no increase in valve train noise. Civilized manors with a very smooth torque curve make this bolt in cam a great choice for the long distance Touring rider. Adjustable pushrods and heavy duty valve springs are not required or recommended with this cam. Remapping is required,

This is a true statement. I am very happy with mine.

SE255, Andrews 54H, and HQ 500 are all top contenders. I personally like the abrupt power of the SE255, but this is where I ride in the power curve and I'm shifting no later than 3.5k.
I guess your next question will be "do I need compression releases"?................
