When I had a sportbike, I used Honda spray /polish. I had some left when I bought my s/g vivid black. I tried and worked like a champ. That all I use with a micro fiber cloth.

good god, some of you are pretty darn anal. can someone say ocd?
i like a clean bike myself, but i'm not gonna cover it in the garage every day. or dust it off every morning. if i got a good smattering of bugs, i'll clean them off, but i'd rather spend my time riding than cleaning.
takes all kinds to make the world go round......
+1

Motorcycles are damn near impossible to keep clean. You can't be too anal about it or you will go crazy because it is a losing battle. Dust it when it gets too dusty and wash it when it gets too durty but other than that, just let it go. We look at our own bikes a lot closer than anyone else ever will, it's probably not as dirty as you think it is.
I've got a bunch of old bath towels that I use. I keep hearing about the microfiber ones. Is there that much of a difference?
I'd never use a dirty or stiff towel on my bike. Just wondering.
