I leave the sock on all the time. I'm sure someone's going to say it effects airflow but the design of the sock and material are very light. Put your hand in it and pass put it out a window in a car and you'll see what i mean. Every know and then I take it off but I can't notice ANY difference in performance. Certainly not in seat of pants feel.

You can leave it on all the time. It may stiffle a minimal amount of airflow, but not anything you will ever notice.

Got sick of the oil coming out of the breather plugs eventhough I was running the oil level at 3.5 quarts. I was alway cleaning oil residue around them. Worse on hot days. So took it off and installed a power pacc with power vents. Much happier now no more oil and seems to perform the same.

Clearance issues are no longer a problem with baggers. SE introduced a new model for 2010 that is designed to fit on bikes with lowers and glove boxes. It can be found in the 2010 SE catalog. I have one at home in the box waiting to be mounted.

24k mi. on an '08 EGC and love it.I run it with the sock on all the time and no oil in the filter. The intake manifold's clean as a whistle,no dirt, soot, oil residue whatsoever in the intake.I clean the filter a couple times a year. The chrome bolt caps seaped a little at first but replaced the o rings and used a little silicone.

Stop by AutoZone or whoever and pick up a
K&N recharge kit...maybe 10 bucks.

Remove filter, place in sink....Soak with detergent supplied in kit and let stand ten minutes.....Get water warm-almost hot water flowing and use dishwasher spray nozzle to spray water inside filter forcing dirt out....stick spray nozzle down inside filter and slowly roll it around till in runs clean......take filter outside and sling it around like you were winding up to pitch a fast ball till water stops flinging off and lay it in sun to dry or use hair drier on LOW till it is truely dry....then squirt red oil supplied in kit over filter element lighty and let absorb equally over filter surface.....clamp filter back in place and forget about for another 5K miles.

Recharge kit is good for many, many recharges. Filter lasts forever.

Thumbs up

Just ordered mine from ebay (wolverine harley davidson) Looking forward to installing it, love the look... Thanks for all the info ....

BTW I've never used wolverine before and no I don't own it or am associated but, I have to give them a huge thumbs up, great price, awesome service and they actually have someone who knows what they're talking about when you call. They shipped it within a 1/2 hour of my "buy it now" and had a tracking number for me in less than 45 minutes...

I'll definetely buy from them again !!!!!!!!!!
