Default road glide lowers ?

OK did a little search on this but couldn't find any thing, why wont the 98 -lower fairings work on 04 to present roadies . I know they changed the fairing a little in 04. I checked the crash bar #'s and it is the same all the way trough It must be a clearance thing on the fairing the glove boxes have a different # 98 to 03. I have a chance to pick some up cheap and was wondering if it was a minor difference that could be resolved with a little glass work or trimming just curious? any body have any ideas

I know that if you buy the 2010 fairing bracket and two fairing supports that you can use the vented lowers. I bet if there is a fitment issue for the 98's that you could probably change out the supports and brackets and might be able to make them fit.

Thanks Dawg, just looking at the pictures I cant see a lot of differance it must be a clearance issue on the tank or the fairing. since I would have to paint any way ? just have to wait and see how cheep they go it is going to be a long winter judging from the weather so far, here is the link on flee bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT if some one needs a set
