Default *help* tbw ape bar question

hi guys have a question.
i just installed 12" apes on my 09 road glide. internally ran all the wires and buttoned everything up and everything works as it should, lights switches..etc but now i have a check engine light on and the throttle responce isnt quite right.
the only problem i ran into was running the tbw connector back thru the bars, the green plug pulled apart an broke the plug so...i came here an searched an found this http://hdforums.com/forum/electrical...-wiring-2.html but the colors on the wires are not right but i put it back as to the page.
can anyone help with the wiring dig. and wire colors form both sides of the plug ?
i have a red purple grey brown blue black off the main harness and and 2 reds 2 blacks an 2 whites off the grip harness.
what goes where?

thank u

Unfortuantely - you need to buy the services manual, parts manual. And maybe the electrical troubleshooting manual.

Its just that complex.

Which code is ti throwing? If you slamemd the tbw unit into the bars, dropped it or had any misfortune...go get a new one. They are very sensitive to side loads and will throw a code instantly.

Go buy the one piece tbw at the HD store. It's much easier than the two piece. Pm me if you have a problem reconnecting the old plug to the new one piece set up.

You need 32310-08 which is the sensor without the green clip and is used for internally wired bars. The OE is 32305-08 and has the green clip. Once the clip breaks, it is no good. I've posted the wiring color codes for the 32310-08 grip here before.

You broke the plug completely? Are you able to access the wires inside the bars? This is why I extended the TBW wires enough to where I didn't have to stuff the plug in the bars. My bars already had enough wires stuff in it as it was. I had to do each wire one by one in order to not mix up the two reds, whites and blacks.

I was told Harley programmed their bikes to go into safe mode (idle only) if something was to go wrong with the TBW (in this case you have crushed the plug and probably crossed wires).

So.... what are you wanting to do?
Are you simply trying to solder the wires together at the plug location inside the bars? or do you plan to replace the plug?

I broke that little green connector too.

I just cut it out and soldered up the wires.

I have the electrical service manual. If you want I can look up the colour codes.

funky, the clip broke while pulling the wires back thru the bars. the stock wiring is long enough but i dont understand..u extended ur wires but didnt put it back thru the bars ?
thats where im getting confused is where the reds, white an black go to which wire on the main harness.
im going to get rid of the plug completly an solder an heat shrink the wires to just hard wire it.

from black wrap;
bk-bk
wh-blu
red-brown

yellow wrap;
bk-grey
wh-viol
red-red

got things back together again tonight and still have a engine light an 1/4 throttle-guess this would be "safe mode" ?
i unpluged the battery for 1 hr to try an reset the comp with no luck.
how can i check for codes ?
is there anyway to check the tbw sensor without taking it to the dealer?

Blue goes to the white wire from the black sleeve
Black goes to the black wire from the white sleeve
Brown goes to the red wire from the black sleeve
Red goes to the red wire from the yellow sleeve
Purple goes to the white wire from the yellow sleeve
Grey goes to the black wire from the yellow sleeve
