Default electra glide seat leaks

i have a friend whose 09 electra glide seat leaks when left out in the rain. the foam get soaking wet and water pisses out of the bottom when he sits on it. harley doesn't seem to want to do anything about it. anyone else have this problem.

How long does it take for him to get all that water back in after it leaks out?

mine has...once...but its not been in the rain since then...maybe a waterproof leather treatment? something to seal the seams up?

Did that ONE time. I got myself the H-D Touring seat cover and slip it on when (there is even a hint of the wet stuff) I get to work!

Yes, it happens. It only pisses out until the water is gone, however.

first rain (heavy, mine did the same).

Put some leather protector on it and no more problem.

The '09 RG seat is not rain proof, it will soak up the water. Sounds like treating the seat and sealing the seams may be in order.
