Rained HARD for about 4 hours on my '08 Ultra back in June while I was in a Motel for the night down in Pigeon Forge. Wiped the whole bike down with a towel the next morning and rode all the way back to West Virginia. The seat wasn't even damp!!

We have bought two of the BIG HINNY seats from Mustang this yr. and my sons
rode all day back from a Harley flat track in OH. in Aug. with a wet arss.
He called Mustang and complained. NO help but they did send him a seat cover.
So when we went white water in WV. I got some mink oil at WW and greased
my seams and greased my chaps and boots. But then of course it did not rain,
but did pick up the road grime!...............Tenn.Vol.

The oils attract everything. Much better off using silicones. I was worried about that problem with Docs when I started using it, but have noticed no dirt build up on anything I used it on. ANything with a silicone base should work though.
