I used Doc Baileys. May need a few more treatments, but the initial treatment lowered the amount of water that gets in. I also cover the seat with the HD cover and a full bike cover to help prevent full soakage!

Material is NOT real leather.
Stock is cheap naugahyde / vinyl and is semi porous
Plus water wicks in through the stitching.
The outer layer is practically paper thin.
#1 don't leave out in the rain
#2. put a rubber on it
#3 spray it with waterproofing for shoes
#4. Have it recovered with GOOD material

Doc's is good or take it to a seat guy and he can seal it from the inside.

wally world... shoe dept.... beeswax...comes in a small tub...great stuff for boots also, heat the item up with a hairdryer then rub it in heavy and wipe off the excess...

one post up... haven't used it on the seat yet so im not sure it will do the trick on the pleather...
