I think that I saw somewhere that the 103 motor on the Ultra Limited has an automatic compression release. If so, could somebody expalin how it works and if it's reliable or problem prone?
Thanks in advance.

Page 7.22 of the 2010 Touring service manual says the ACR is opened and closed by the ecm to assist starting.
When open, compressed gasses are released through the exhaush port.
That's about all I can tell you
They are suposedly better than what they used to be. But like the manual compression releases they to can get fouled with carbon debri. Somewhere in the manual it should state some servicing frequencies on them.

Good to know.
I'm not finding anything about servicing in the manual. They do show installation and removal.

Did some further research and I can't find a thing. Maybe there is no info on maintenance because they are located under the rocker box covers. Boy the MOCO didn't put them in a easily accessible spot for trouble shooting purposes or replacing.
