Another option is to buy the D&D complete 2-into-1 exhaust system. Not a cheap approach, but pretty much just bolt on. They're in high demand now... a bit of a wait.

Will this change the O2 readings and cause the check engine light to come on? Over the years I have done this to cars and the check engine light would come on. The code would be low cat performance.

No and the ECM will also adjust for the difference in air flow also according to the techs I talked to.

Drilled mine in the 2010 SG today and my buddy drilled is in his '09 CVO RG. They both went very smooth and easy and could tell a difference in both sound and heat off the exhaust now that it can breath like it should.

Don't drill out the Cat. You can't get it all out. Send it to fullsac (www.fullsac.com) they'll cut the headpipe and remove all of the cat for a very reasonable price. While you're at it, have them recore your mufflers too. It makes a BIG difference. Do a SERT or PC or TTS dyno tune to get the AFR right and you're good to go.
