Installed it last night. I was having problems with my old radio not working most of the time. It was the main connector into the radio or the radio itself. I took a chance on picking up the radio and the biketronics kit as I wanted to update from the cassette player anyway even if it didn't resolve the problem by itself
It does seem to have resolved the problem and works perfectly. Very happy with the sound (using hogtunes speakers and the tweeter pod) and the looks of the radio...big improvement over the faded face of the old radio.
I picked this radio as it seemed pretty loaded with features and wasn't a lot more money. One of the main features it adds is bluetooth. Quite frankly I didn't know if I would use that feature but it's great for what I wanted it for primarily. I can now mate it with my phone which I mount in a ram-mount and when I use the GPS on my phone I can have it give the voice directions through the radio. That way if I can't see the phone/gps during daylight, which is a problem, I can just listen to the voice commands instead. To the best of my knowledge (haven't read the manual yet) you have to switch back and forth from the bluetooth setting to the radio/cd/ipod to use that feature but that is no big deal. It's tempting to activate the 'xm radio' feature on my cellphone now as I played a sample through it and that sounded great also.
Another feature I didn't know it had is if you plug in the ipod using the USB port on the front of the radio it displays the current song playing and You can use the handlebar controls to change songs etc. I usually plug in my shuffle and throw it in the bag as I have an auxillary cable ran up to the radio. Using the shuffle I can't change songs with the handlebar controls. 'Cos of this new feature I stopped tonight and bought a usb extension cable to run under the gas tank and I'll use my ipod video instead so I can change songs at the handlebars. Haven't ran that yet, I have to check the manual to see how to go about lifting the tank a few inches.
Biketronics technical support was great. I'm not the brightest when it comes to this kinda stuff. I called them with a few questions and they had me on track in no time. Two thumbs up all the way around. Took it for a 50 mile ride tonight and it sounded and operated great.

Managed to run the usb cable under the gas tank tonight. Took quite a while and some patience but I was able to do it without raising the tank. Using the IPOD with that cable is great. Not only can I change the songs using the handlebar controls but you can also pick the playlist. I had to drill a larger hole in the back of the saddlebag to fit the usb end fitting through but no big deal.
