Do yourself a favor and get one of Herko's quick connects for the fuel tank. It will make pulling the tank in the future a 2 minute job, just ask petemac or soos.

Congrats bud I know you been waiting for this for a while. I know you are as anal about documenting the work as you are cleaning your bike hehe so this should be a good DIY thread. Look forward to riding with you some day.

Very nice pics, and my buds call me anal ? Not.. Just curious on what exhaust system you will be using with the new build, are you going to keep the SuperTrapps ? Keep the pics and details coming.. Nice work and good luck.

Alright, now that my hands are clean and I ain't stressing on seeing my bike in a bazillion pieces I can reply.

Dawg, the rubber mallet has already been called upon, but the stop sign? WTF?!?!? You boyz are CrAzY!!!!

Soos and Ultra61, don't make me break out the camera and take more pics of the belly of the scoot. I'm thinking yall need to see some more of those shots!

Jerry, Ben and Joe, thanks for the well wishes! I'll take pics of the build as we go back with it. The builder is EXTREMELY meticulous and torques every single bolt to spec. This should be a very tight and well put together build, so hang tight, I'm stoked.

The build is somewhat conservative, but I "should" be at around 85hp and 110tq for about $500 bucks worth of investment.

I'm going with the SE255's, stock heads w/ Jim's manual compression releases, .030 Cometic gasket, having my own cylinders bored to 3.875 by a VERY reputable machinist, SERT, stock head pipes with the Supertrapp SE's. I chose to stay with the Supertrapps due to wanting to harness exhaust noise. I've always liked my Supertrapps tone and the boss lady doesn't want loud pipes.

My corrected compression should end up at 9:8.1 or 9:9.1 with a Cold Cranking Compression of ~207.2. Not too radical, but just enough to take a bit more advantage of my cams.

Feedback and suggestions are appreciated.

Now, I think I'm going to have to go clean the top of my saddlebag, looks like a spec of dust settled on it over night!

About six or so months ago, I emailed Herko to ask if their quick disconnect fittings would work with the HD stainless crossover line and the reply was that it would not.
