What wind shields have you tried? I have an 09 RG (different faring tilt/ hight) and have a 16" Cee Bailey SSC dome shield and love it. Only minor buffeting. If I had to do it over again I would have gotten the 17" as I wear a DOT helmet.

Lemme guess. You bought the bike never having actually test rode one? Maybe YOU should have done a bit of testing before plunking down 20 grand?

Of course, thats Harleys fault right?

Sorry to hear that. The low profile of the bike and the small windshield makes this an issue. I suspect that HD never really tested the bike in a wind tunnel.

Nice look bike though!

Good luck!

I've ridden 700 plus miles in a day with my little windshield and must be used to it. Of course, I have the lower fairings so that may make a difference. Oh, and by the way, I've had 11 Harleys and several of them were Ultra's (with short windshields).

I sold my Street Glide after 29 days because of the buffeting, I have a 2009 RG with a KW 8in shield and rode it to Florida twice and no problems, Im 5'10 215 lbs. I have a 12inch for the winter months and still no problem!

You have been a forum member since Oct 2007 and there have been, oh probably, 1000 or more threads regarding buffeting with a fairing bike in just the time I have been a member, so did this really come as that big a surprise to you?

I know it's disheartening, but be patient and work thru it. I loved my RK and suffered a big let down with my new bike when I 1st purchased it but I worked thru the problems and am now extremely happy. You will be too.

If you can get the turbulance up over your helmet you have it made, don't know about RG's but on my SG a 10" with recurve did it. Very rare to have eyeballs rattling now.
