Thanks for the info. Still sounds like it's who you talk to and what level of customer service that "who" wants to provide. I wish the MOCO would just get off their ass and do whats right.

Amen to that! There are thousands of us out here that bought early 2009 touring bikes with those bad tires on them. Most of us have been told by either the dealer or Harley "Too bad, it is a wear item" so Kiss Off. I am sick and tired of this bad behavior and am not likely to forget it. I am also convinced that many people who have those 407Fs on their front end don't know about their wear problems. I guess the only thing that really gets a manufactures attention is when people start to get killed from their product. Otherwise, fok em. Right, Firestone????
Business goes where it is most appreciated! Right now I don't feel very appreciated and my guess that there are a lot of others who feel the same. The worst thing about this whole scenario is that like it or not, if we want tires on our 09s, we have to buy Dunlops from Harley unless we are willing to put something other than a 17" on our fronts. Talk about being screwed. "But still, like I said, Business goes where it is most appreciated." I'm pissed.

Change tire brands. I use Michelins and love them. I had cupping problems on my BMW RT and switch from stock tire to Metz Radials and never had that problem again. Can't understand why anyone would stay w/same brand, just mho. Be sure to keep tire pressure at recommended psi for every ride you take.

It is not that people don't want to change brands, it is the fact that the OEM is the only one that is making a tire size that fits the '09 rims. Some people have used a slightly larger size metz on the front without problems, but not everyone is willing to change from the published size listed in the manual.

Did you tell them that your tire was cupping of that it has front end vibration?

Great - Went to the dealer yesterday with a ABS light on. They fixed that under warranty. Dealer said that front tire is worn and needs to be replaced. I did take it in earlier for a roaring noise in the front over 50 MPH. They said it was normal and just the brakes in contact with the rotor. Now I just find this thread about the cupping tiries on the 09's. Exactly what I had. I wish I would have seen this before. I even had to tell my dealer about the download need to correct the ABS. They did that under warranty also. Well $291 latter I have replaced a front tire with 11,000 miles on it. I will talk to my dealer tomorrow. They will probably just hand me a bottle of KY.

I've got about 2000 miles on my 09 Glide- the tires howl like crazy. Gonna air em up and ride to the dealer and complain. Not that I expect much to come of it. Thanks God for the radio and Cd player. Other than that the bikes okay.

+1 on calling MoCo Customer Service. I did that on Tuesday, got my # to give to Service Mgr (I did mention that the front end is vibrating...blah blah).

Go in for the 15K svc tomorrow afternoon and will have the front tire replaced under warranty (with any luck).

Took mine to the Dealer in Rapid city during Sturgis rally - 5000 on bike. Front end felt "squirrely" I would not call it a vibration - he put a new tire on. 3500 later, I have the same problem again. The only problem I have with the bike. It is not that noticeable most of the time, but sometimes it is. Very strange. I think I will go to a different brand when I change. No problem with the back.
