Even with the stock speakers the CD sounds much better than the FM. But I want to know how much difference there is between the stock speakers and the 7.5 speakers when just using a CD.

Any specific ear plugs fall into the "better quality" category? I've tired the foam-type, but I'm sure there's got to be something better.....WAY better.
Really the best ear plugs are Howard Leight Max ear plugs. They're orange, soft, and have one of the highest db reduction ratings out there. Howard Leight also makes some yellow/pink ear plugs that are great, but I forgot what they're called.
I've spent years searching for the best ear plug. I've tried more brands than I care to remember. Even custom-made plugs I paid $100 for. The Howard Leight Max by far trump the others for sound reduction and comfort.
They're available on Amazon at a pretty good price.

for ear plugs look at surefire.
I use them on the range all the time. They are somewhat flesh colored as well so you don't have these funky flashes coming from your side profile. They have a little nib to plug in for more protection if you find you need it or leave it open for talking with people around you. Form fitted and about 10 bucks a set from some spots. http://www.surefire.com/EP3-Sonic-Defenders

"Would you pay $279 plus S&H for these if you hadn't gotten them to demo?
If you answer yes, send them back pronto and show me!!!
j/k.....good write up."
Hey, if you go to Dr. Vtwin: www.drvtwin.com or call:818-501-TWIN(8946) and talk to Shawn.. he'll get you that set of speakers delivered to your door for $235.00. Great guy to talk to and has a plethora of knowledge on what is out there and what is coming soon!!
Those Sure fire earplugs are about the greatest thing out there, especially for the price. They are great for all day use and like SCOOBY DOO said... they have that little plug for extra protection. They fit right in the ear and you never notice them!! The new ones EP4's are out and they give a bit more protection as well for about $14/pair.
