Yeah I agree, I've never had any trouble with those pins on two different bikes. They go in and out easily. I'd guess your's is not adjusted right.

I use a bolt with washer on front & back and a wing nut on the front hole on each of my bags and it makes it nice & secure.

I use the clevis and hitch pin method. I fasten the pin on the bracket and it stays put and then put the saddlebag on. I only do the front ones.

Backside on the bracket, as you can see I used a nut as a spacer but I'll get around to drilling a hole in the pin.

I recently had mine walk away from my scoot. Bags were locked and someone popped the pins from the rear and away they went. Can't seem to find a locking device, so a good nut and bolt will be installed once I get the insurance to replace.

Those are Dzus fasteners and hold the body panels of dragsters at over 300mph, you're doing something wrong, either in alignment of clip or installation of fasteners if they are falling off. So go with the bolts or the clevis pins and hairpins if you want to.

I've had them on 3 different bikes with no problems.Like the above post said they're used on race cars and aircraft (or something similar).I'd use bolts if I had any fear of my bags disappearing in the middle of the night though.
