i'm wondering if it isn't an 'option' to go with the 2-1. all the literature says 2-1-2. even if it is a mistake in their literature, they didn't 'remove it within a year' there are still other models that have the 2-1-2 exhaust.

To me it appears that they just added the shark fairing to make this years Road Glide. The bike looks like a Street Glide in all other respects. Did you also see that there is a "Sidecar" option for the 2010 Road Glide?

Glad as heck I got my 09 last year..........

You can go with the new thunderheader and get the best of both worlds. I have one on my 09 RKC you see below. Its a 2-1 with a falsee on the left side.

So, if the exhaust is only on one side will I fall down for not being balanced? That would hurt!

Glad I got a 09' FLHX, other wise I'd be looking at a 2010 Victory Cross Country or Cross Roads.

Nice to know maybe the exhaust hangers are still there and you can bolt up an older exhaust. makes you wonder what the bean counters were thinking, now they can only sell one muffler for this bike instead of two. Unless the plans are to charge the same amount for less pipes?

I've always changed the exhausts on every bike as well, but for once in Harley history they really had a good looking functional header pipe stock, and then they go and do a boneheaded move of removing it within a year.

Are there any other changes to the 2010 FLHX other than the nasty exhaust or the 5th gear? Couldn't tell.

edit: just saw the "redesigned" rear fender. YUCK as well on that.
Looks like the new 17" front wheel in 2009 has already been disc. for an 18".

18 inch front wheel looks good, I could care less about the helical cut 5th gear. Rear fender is OK, but I want my BrightAssLights tail light burning some cagers retina's out.
I will gladly keep my 09' FLHX. And, BTW, watercooled Harley touring bikes are for pussies.

I love the fact they changed the pipe to a 2-1. Look at all the people who need "pipe balance" it pissed off. Funny stuff right there..

Also love seeing the dudes that state they didn't buy a harley for performance. "If I wanted a fast bike I would have bought xxx bike".
Then you look at their signature and they got an A/C, stage 2, mean pipes, PCV, cams etc. Waaaa?

Do people really think a factory 2-1 pipe is going to make the bike a Race bike? Thats laughable..

I'm puzzled that HD decided to go with the 2-1 on the SG as well. It's obviously one of their more popular bikes. And although the 2-1 exhaust have more power, they haven't gained widespread popularity because a lot of people don't like the way they look. So why would HD pull such a move, and put one of their best sellers at risk?
