the term "self proclaimed guru of harley" comes to mind when i read the articles in american iron. not as bad as the dorks from new york though, the occ gang. sure donny peterson knows a lot about harleys, it's obvious. but there are tons of guys without the media exposure who are brilliant as well. discovery channel made the tuettels of OCC what they are.

Of course everybody has the right to disagree, but isn't it better to do so in a decent manner?

Im gonna treat this like the post I made once on a hot rod board and got called everything including a white man over a little criticism.. If Donny is that polite and intelligent then point him to this thread and let him decide if the guy slandering him... If I remember right today its still a free world and talk is cheap also ... Lighten up dude ...Remember this is the internet

Donny is a big target for those who disagree with him. I've never read a single instance where he fought back dirty. He is a class guy. It's fine to disagree with a person just don't get personal.

As far as I'm concerned, a person should take the time read his books before they slam him. If you don't take the time to educate yourself, then maybe you should stay silent.

Donny isn't a friend of mine although he has replied a some emails I sent with specific questions. I have invested in his books and I will continue to buy them as they some out. He has 2 out now and several more in the works.

Just my 2 cents.

Steve

Lighten up? I'm afraid I don't see anything caustic in my post. Certainly not as bombastic as the person to whom I was addressing. I even qualified my statement by mentioning people were free to disagree.

With regards to the terminal velocity tuning units I have never broached the subject with Donny, but they are on display at Heavy Duty Cycles. Speaking of which the shop is no longer his. He sold it to Tattoo Tony earlier this year.

And, with regards to Donny answering email - yes he is very good. However, the email address noted earlier in this thread no longer goes to Donny since he sold the business.

Cheers,

Speed

Default Keep drinking the Kool-aid

You should really get your head out of your a@s. I assume that you hope for the day when your daughter proudly displays her new vest stating "Property of the Hell's Angels". You'll be so proud that a gang now "owns" her.

Try thinking or just keep supporting the 1% that even buys toys for kids charities.

AMAZING

I've had the TV3 installed at HeavyDuty and can't say anything negative about it. I am not much of a techie when it comes to motorcycles and have found few people that know what they are talking about. I've found that the dealers are totally useless here in Toronto area. They just equate everything to how much money they can extort from you. Last week one was telling me that my clutch is out of adjustment because of the TV3 fuel management install being a "non authorized part" as far as Harley Davidson is concerned. This is such a crock of crap, I have lost all respect for the dealers. Both Donny and Tony seem to know their stuff from my perspective and are not into canned replies that are authorized by Harley Davidson. They both treat you with respect and very normal people with a caring attitude. This experience together with the amount of knowledge and technical ability they posess has made them my advisors of choice as well as their shop the only place I trust.

It's not uncommon for other manufacturers stock bikes to be rich at WOT and lean about everywhere else so I wouldn't be surprised if this is true on some Harleys.
