Don't be too thin skinned. You will always encounter antagonists on public forums. After three or four words, move on to the next post.

Regarding the tranny question; MoCo doesn't install a reverse gear because the design engineers do not know what the word functionality is. You know, llike the air temp gauge that only tells you what temp your nuts are roasting at? Yeah, backing up the Ultra can be a bit concerting, especially if there is something loose on the ground. If there was an affordable solution, I would be one of the first ones to install it.

I agree, might be in your interest to lower the bike and change saddles.

Always park rear tire to the curb. You never know when you need to make a quick get-a-way. In place of a machanical reverse try using this method:

1. When near the spot you want to park, turn off ignition and put down the kick stand.
2. Get off the bike.
3. Grab firmly the two handle grips and lift bike off of the kickstand.
4. For transportation in reverse, pull the bike in a backwards motion. This is very useful for moving a your bike up a hill or over uneven pavement as well as a combination of both.
5. For transportation moving in a froward direction, push the bike in a froward motion. This causes the bike to move in a forward direction and can also be used for moving up a hill if needed.
6. Consult your physician prior to implementing this method for preparation for temporary short term motorcycle storage.

I am 61 years old and in every instance needed this method has worked 100% of the time for 45 years and counting. I have never seen the need to a mechanical reverse in any circumstances I have ever encountered. I prefer to ride a motorcycle for everyday transportation and use a 4 wheel vehicle very infrequently.

I'm 5'8" and had the rear of my ultra lowered 1". A lower seat would help more.
A few tips.
1. Always try to park facing uphill. Backing down hill is easy.
2. If you must back up hill.
a. check whats below and behind you. Remove any gravel or loose material before you climb on the bike.
b. Face forward, plant your feet, lean back and pull the bike back using the handlebars.
c. After each pull grab the front brake, reposition your feet and give another pull.

That thread was not a serious thread. Some thought it was and most knew it wasn't. I will stick to my post to your OP....I did a search for you and seriously, maybe you could try these boots, I'm sure they are cheaper than a new tranny

They say if you install a riders backrest it will help you to push the bike backwards using the bars and your back. I'm going to install one soon.
