on my 08 rkc a cpl of times now i have stalled after coming out from a stop/light.I had to rev it up some to keep from stalling while in 1st gear.I thought i read some where here that this may be a heat mgt mode or something like that.I have a PCV from fuelmoto should i request a remap or maybe even getting the bike dyno'd.anyone have opinions or suggestions to take care of my problem.I wasnt even in hvy traffic today when it happened again.thanks

there was a thred awhile back on this , a few thought they had pcv issuies but the common thought it was just getting it out of the heat management mode try givin the throttle a hit just b4 u go to take off after u ben idol at a stop if it is in the mode the throttle bump will take it out .

I read something like that as well now that you mentioned it.Anyhow i called fuelmoto and they sent me another map, already downloaded it.It supposedly going to richen it up a bit.we'll see, unfortunately its raining alot right now so cant test it.
Rick,
Try shutting the engine idle temperture management system (EITMS) completely off by turning the ignition switch to on position, then turn the run/off switch on the right handlebar to the run position, (don't start the engine) then roll the hand grip all the way to the roll off position. The cruise light on the dash should flash green, roll throttle forward then back to the off position, after 3 seconds the light should then flash red meaning the EITMS is now disabled. I bet you won't have the problem again. If you ever wish to re-enable it, just do the same procedure again until light flashes green and it will then be enabled. Good luck.

i think that only works on the '09's, he has an '08, anyway doesn't sound like an eitms issue

Seems that it is the heat management system doing it's thing. As has been said give it some throttle before starting off. Had mine stall once during an especially hot day while stopped at a long light. Continually reving and returning to idle will only add to the heat problem. Thank EPA, not PCV.

thats what i did to keep it from stalling i just gave it a little throttle before taking off.also even though i have an 08 mine does have the capability in shutting the rear cylinder by throttling forward.never tryed it while it was off though usually i've done it while i'm stopped at a long light.I may try as deepsouth251 suggested if it does it again.I'm hoping the remap of the PCV has eliminated the problem.Wont know till i'm able to ride again.
if it's trying to stall while in 1st gear with the clutch in it's not the heat management system. that only happens while in neutral, stopped.
It would stall when taking off while in first gear. While i'm stopped waiting there isnt a tendency to stall only as soon as i start to take off.If i give it a little throttle upon take off it wont stall.
Rick, how many miles have you put on it since the PCV install? I only ask because I put one on my '07. Then put an Arlen Ness BS and Rush slipons 2" baffles. Fuelmoto sent a map for that setup. The idle did wierd things for about 100 miles. Then settled down. Runs great now. Just my experience.
