Dyno results, SE255's vs Wood TW 6-6
Hi all, got the tune done today thanks to Rods Performance in AL again. I'll try to keep this short, this is a 2009 Ultra Classic.
Setup 1. SE 103 flat top pistons, SE 255 cams, mild port/polish & cc'd heads 85.1, stock valves & springs, SEST, stock header, Jackpot slip ons, SE stg 1 air cleaner.
Dyno results were the blue lines 81.44 hp and 97.26 tq
Setup 2. SE 103 flat top pistons, Wood TW 6-6 cams, Wood +4 cam gear, mild port/polish & cc'd heads 85.1, stock valves & springs, SEST, VH power duals header, Monster ovals slip ons, SE stg 1 air cleaner.
Dyno results were the red lines 93.11 hp and 103.76 tq
Gained 11.67 peak hp and 6.5 peak ft lbs tq, but the big difference is the TQ carries out alot farther, at 4500 rpms the Wood setup made 13ft lbs more TQ than the SE 255's, and the Woods made the same TQ at 5000 rpms as the 255's made at 3500.

For some reason I was thinking most Woods cams were noisey due to aggresive lope angles. I have the Red Shift 577 and it will clatter from 4500 to 6000

So what is the adjustment difference? Zippers has a different method, bottom the lifter than shorten the push rod .100 I think?

I've only put about 50 miles on it but it doesn't seem any different just cruising around. I haven't really been aggressive with it because I wanted to wait until I got it tuned, hoping to get it out tomorrow for a little ride. If you look at the dyno sheet the HP and TQ curves are pretty much twins up to 3500, the new setup just has about 2-3hp/tq more than before until after 3500.
