Smile Handlebars

Thanks for the write-up. Helps alot when deciding on handlebars. On my 08 RG, I tried Wild one 513's, not bad, but alittle too wide for me.Then went with 517's, alot narrower, but I feel a lack of control at low speed handling. The bars remind me of the arms of a wheelbarrow. One of these days I'll get it right. I'm 5'8".

sifularon:
Like the looks of your new bars. You changed out your cables, but would the stock cable lengths work? I have an '08 Road Glide and have been looking at changing my bars out. Stock are too short. H-D finally came out with their '09 parts catalog and they've got some Heritage bars that are for the models with electronic throddles, but they don't seem to be much different.
Have anybody else tried putting these bars, or something similar, on an '08 Road Glide? Any sugestions?
Thanks,
KCBKPKR

I put what they are calling the new heritage bars, last year they were the police road king bars, on my RG. Came up about 2" and back about 2" , much more comfortable for me. No cable or brake line changes necessary, even with ABS. I have to say I like those khromewerks bars too though!

Bars are very important to overall comfort, I use the wg bars and are happy with them, i am interested in your gps mount and wiring can you go into a little detail on that?
Thanks,

It is not necessary to change the cable or extend the wiring. I just did it because I got such a good deal on them on Ebay. Your stock cables will work for sure if you route your clutch cable like I did.

Here is my previous post on the 08 Police bars which are like the heritage Bars with the FBW slots already in them.

I put the Heritage bars on my '08 Road Glide and really like them. All the stock cables, wires, etc. work fine. Much more comfortable than stock for me. I took a three day trip a couple of weeks ago and had no back, arm, or neck fatigue at all.
