Is anyone having problems with the Harmon Kardon Radio Losing Output of Sound? I am on my second radio with the same problem. All is well riding down the highway and the sound just goes away! Flick the speaker switch on the dash and the sound comes back. It might operate properly for another 20 miles or it might go off after just a mile. I am running the Hawg wired amps to power all speakers and do not believe this is the problem. It appears to be an output problem on the HK Radio. Just looking for Help!!

No, haven't had that particular problem. \\; Keep in mind the tried and true Harley wisdom: when something goes wrong, 99 percent of the time it's connected to the last thing you changed.

Check to see if the volume level bar is coming on as the radio mutes. My 08 is in the shop now because the radio volume level bar shows and the radio mutes all by its self. I will answer back today after I find out what the problem is.

If you flip the speaker switch on the dash and it comes back on it sounds like you might have a bad connection in the switch. Try running it in the middle position and see if that helps.
I lost sound on mine twice last summer. \\; Had to shut the bike off and mess with fuses to get it back. \\; Over the winter I pulled the front end apart, to include inner fairing, and reassembled. \\; No problems yet this year. \\; Makes me think if it might have just been a bad connection somewhere.

Check the basics, most audio equipment will suffer connection problems. May also be an indication of a dry joint in the radio or amp, start with the basics before ordering a replacement.
