Thanks for the info guys. Friend at work has the Bisley, and he too said that the dragoon style trigger guard bangs his knuckles. His is 45 cal. I think I'm leaning towards the SBH hunter. You'd think a single action would be a tad more accurate than the double(redhawk) since there's less moving parts IMHO, but I love the look of the SA's anyway. More character....
The Redhawk is more accurate mostly because of the quicker lock time of the double action. The loooong hammer fall of any SA revolver is where most of the 'inaccuracy' comes from.
Its not really the gun that's at fault, its all because the shooter is not able to maintain a sight picture as well during that long hammer fall, and that's were all the supposed inaccuracy stems from.
In relative terms when both are fired from a machine rest you would be hard pressed to tell which is better. And in the end either one is going to be far more accurate then you'll ever be able to use in the field.
The 'more parts' thing is only an issue when your considering overall reliability. More parts means more to go wrong, but on that score I think Ruger has a well proven rack record for making guns (especially their handguns) that are damn near indestructable.
You just can't break the damn things.

My SB is about 25 yrs old. have taken it deer hunting many times and downed a few nice bucks and does with it. Recoil is tame compared to a 629 SW. The grip design let's it roll up instead of kicking straight back.
This is my New Model Blackhawk in 357. I love the single action guns, this one is 20 years old and functions just fine!
Did you polish the frame and ejector housing on that gun or is that just a wierd lighting effect in the pic?
My New Model Blackhawk (about the same age & in .357) has a shorter 5 something inch barrel, but doesn't look like yours in pics.
It was my fathers before he passed away a couple of years ago.
The only thing he used it for was paper and Woodchucks.
But it did make good tight groups and very dead Woodchucks.
