I also have mids and one of the first things I did when I bought my bike was to put on engine guards so I could add hwy pegs. I have the H-D adjustable ones and they work great. Expensive but very comfortable.

They have them on e-bay for around $120. I bought a set of used ones for $50, then had them powder coated. They work great.
