Default Which ape hangers for an '06 883?

Looking for the lowest cost way to put some ape hangers on my Sportster. What brand, retailer offers the best option for the price? Also, what size would look/function best for my size, 13, 14, or 16 inch? I am about 5'8. Thanks.

At 5'8", the 13" bars should do just fine for you. I'd stick to the narrower ones, since your front end is pretty narrow. As far as brands go- I usually get my bars from Wild 1. Check out their website- it will show how their bars look on customers' bikes.

whew..... Your opening up a can worms starting with a questions like that.

I believe you have a 883C from the other post you've made which means you have the customer riser, first thing you need to decide before worrying about how big the bars are going to be is to decide if you want to ditch that riser for straight ones?

Thanks for the replies. That helps me know where to start. I think a different set of risers would look better.

I would agree with the post from TW above, stick with narrow ones as they generally look better on sportsters.

I have a 883Low, stock risers(1 or 1 and a half inch, i think) and just went with some mini apes from Khrome Werks that are labeled for a dyna. Bars cost me around 60 bucks and are drilled so you can wire internally. Clutch and Front brake cables($70-$80 each for Magnum Black Pearl braided) did have to be changed to longer lengths but my throttle and idle were fine. If you go internal wiring then you'll have to take that into account as well.

I know you said you looking for lowest cost but the reality is low to you may not be the same as low to others when factoring in DIY vs. shop work.

Good luck and let us know more of the direction you want to go as there is plenty of help and opinions here.

I have 14" Burly Brand Narrow Apes on my Nightster. I also bought the Burly Brand 14" ape install kit for sportsters. It included everything needed to install the bars. I got everything from Dr. V-twin for just under $300 and did the install myself.
