I don't pay close attention to my mpg and that mine's carb'd versus the newer EFI's, but I do know that I typically switch to reserve at 130 miles on the odometer on a consistent basis. I also know that I only get a little over 2 gallons, (2.2 to 2.8 gallons), of gas in there, which would mean I getting around the 50mpg range even with my heavy wrist. Yes, I wind the engine out ALL the time. I'm going to try to pay closer attention to this for a while, maybe this weekend on a charity ride that I'm supposed to go on.

I got about 63 mpg on my last trip up north. Mostly freeway driving with a lot of down hills, but it was incredible to see it. That was 2 up (a kid on the back) too! Usually get closer to 48 mpg or so.
