skaterjo631 made a good point which I forgot to add...un-plugging the wires is a huge help in making everything fit nicely...you can tuck them in a manner that will fit under your tank...
Remember to disconnect your battery first...
McMaster Carr is where I got the wire covering...it is a split loom and just wraps around the wires...very easy to do...
For me...$2000.00 lower price tag, Matte Black Finish, slightly cheaper insurance...and I am not worried about breaking sound barriers with speed on the sportster...if I did I would have stayed with Crotch Rockets...
The Iron is also my first Harley...I have not regretted the decision yet...course I am only 500 miles into ownership =)
But seriously you cannot go wrong with either choice...good luck
Thanks guys, I'll give it a go.
Yeah when I say right hand side I mean the exhaust side. It didn't come stock that way but if I run it on the other it gets in the way of the speedo. From what I can remember the plugs seem bunched up at one point, Hopefully if the weather is good I'll try and do it this weekend, just need to give myself some time.
I've ordered some 3/4" split loom and I suppose I'll just have to stagger the plugs so they fit and leave the one under the head light (have had my indicators relocated to the forks and mini apes put on and the extension wires seem to be different lengths.) God I wish I lived in the US!
Thanks again guys!
just disconnect the connectors, straighten them out into a more manageable
bunch, and then stagger the reconnection. My pics is basically like JambaJuice's where my wiring comes out from underneath the tank, just my wires are running over the top of the tank mount, where his are going under and over the top of the tank lift mount. Just mess around with the configuration of the wires, tape'em, zip tie'em, and even throw some of the split coil loom on them, and you'll get them all under there and set up.
Good luck man. And don't ever hesitate to ask questions, as all the nice people on this forum are always eager to lend a helping hand. I know I wouldn't be where I am without all the help. See ya around,

Ihave a question to all the ironheads that have springer seats. is the ride less comfortable, do u feel like ur gunna fly off the bike when u hit i descent bump. I live in south texas and not a lot of people are big on springer seats due to the rough ride. just wanna see if this is true cause i plan on makin one.
