Where's the TSSM Located

I bought my wife a new 09 Sportster 1200 Low. After the deal was done the Stealer told me it doesn't come with the Alarm. I know it optional but all the other bikes I've seen it's always on it on (sort of like the setup fee). Long story short, they wanted to sell me one and I was pi$$ed and said NO! So I was going to to buy one at Chicago H-D and get the 20% off the $299.00 list. I pick the same up off of eBay from another Dealer for $239.00 free shipping. It arrived already and I haven't had a chance to the Service Manual yet. The flippin' instructions tell you to install per the service manual The unit is plug n play except H-D has to "Join" the unit to the bike with their computer after the install. I don't want to pay them 2 hours labor to install it (still pi$$ed) so may plan was to do it in the parking lot and push it in for the $42.00 "Join" Fee.. SOO... What I need to to know where the TSM in located to replace it with the TSSM and where to put the antenna? Can anyone help me out??

1. See Figure 7-80. Pull wiring harness connector [30B] up
through cavity in bottom of battery tray.
2. Position TSM/TSSM over cavity with connector [30A] facing
oil tank.
3. Plug wiring harness connector [30B] into TSM/TSSM.
4. Lower TSM/TSSM into cavity. See Figure 7-79. Make
sure top of TSM/TSSM is flush with bottom of battery
tray.
5. Install battery. See BATTERY INSTALLATION AND
CONNECTION under 1.6 BATTERY MAINTENANCE.
6. Perform TSM/TSSM password learn and setup procedure.
See the SPORTSTER MODELS ELECTRICAL
DIAGNOSTIC MANUAL for procedure.
7. Install left side cover. See LEFT SIDE COVER under 1.6
BATTERY MAINTENANCE.

POWER DISRUPTION AND
CONFIGURING
The TSM/TSSM will not enter configuration mode on the first
attempt after battery voltage has been removed from terminal
1. This will occur after any of the following situations:
●
Battery disconnect or power drain.
●
Battery fuse removal.
●
Connecting Breakout Box to TSM/TSSM connector.
Therefore, after all battery reconnects, the configuration
sequence must be modified as follows.
1. Set run switch to
OFF
, cycle ignition key
ON
-OFFON
-
OFFON
and press left turn signal switch
twice
.
2. Repeat step listed above.
3. Continue with configuration sequence listed.

KEY FOB ASSIGNMENT
The key fob on TSSM motorcycles must be set so it will operate
the alarm system on the vehicle. This assignment
must
be completed with no pauses between steps greater than 10
seconds. Turn the ignition OFF after all key fobs have been
assigned. The programming mode will also exit after 60 seconds
has elapsed without detecting any fob signup messages
or turn signal switch activity.
Two key fobs may be assigned to the TSSM. The first successful
attempt to program a fob will disable all previously
assigned fobs. If a second fob is to be programmed, it must
be done in the same programming sequence as the initial fob.
To assign a key fob to a motorcycle, refer to Table 3-1.

I was following you right up until I saw "push and hold the FOB..."

The 07 and newer FOBs don't have a button like my 06 so hopefully that part is done by the $42.00 Fee on their computer

Thank you for the information as to the location.. Now I know it's hidden under the battery. The Pic was very helpful.

Also on my 06 Dyna, it didn't have a antenna like the 07+ models. I'll probably just temporarily mount the antenna under the seat.
