Check out Cozy Sidecars. They are most often distributed with Royal Enfield bikes but they say they have a Universal Mounting kit that fits most bikes, including Sportsters.
Their gallery has nice pics of sidecars on the Enfields.
I wanted the same thing for my 883. Ended up with an Electraglide Classic with an ultraclassic sidecar. I gotta be honest here...after 5000 miles in that rig, I really wouldn't want to be using a Sportster. Just the torque alone over 45 would scare me...coming around a corner or down an exit ramp feels like it is flexing the ElectraGlide...I can't imagine what it would do to a Sportster. Several aftermarket companies will put one on, but I think there is a reason Harley will only do one on a Road King and bigger. Go rent one and see what I mean. And now when I jump on the Sportster..WOW is like zipping out on a 250 Ninja or something!!!
I have a VELOREX sidecar on my 883 Sportster. Fits the bike perfectly. The Velorex is small, but it's perfect for my three-year-old daughter. When my nine-year-old daughter isn't on the back of Daddy's bike, she can squeeze into the Velorex with her little sister, but it's very cramped. So this really is a small sidecar. But it seems to me that it suits my 883 perfectly, as it's such a small bike.
LOOKING TO SELL IT NOW, and move on to something larger...any suggestions on a selling price????? It's hard to find comparisons.
I just sold this rig for $3000 at our local annual bike fest...1978 Suzuki Gs1000 w/Velorex sidecar.....only took three hours to sell.....The guys at "Brothers Powder Coating" New Port Richey, Fl, bought it for their mother and her pit bull (65+ years old).....I will miss this bike but am glad it went to a dog owner
