Default 01 Sportster rear fender

Whats up everyone, looking to do a springer seat and big chop on my rear fender on my 01 sportster. Was wondering the best way to go about chopping the fender and moving the tail lights back? New to the sportster ex sport bike rider

Mask off the line you want to cut. Then use a cut off wheel with a steady hand. You'll need to retouch the edge with paint though. As for a tailight. When we chopped the fender on a friends 883, we used a license plate mounted led tail strip.

I just used a angle grinder. found pics of fenders I liked and used as a reference. Got the tail light from Harley and made the plate bracket.
Fun winter project!

Just helped my buddy with his '02 Dyna. We masked it and used a jig saw then he touched it up later. I did the same on my Sporty but I cut the front and rolled it forward.

We put the DK Stealth LED on there and an RBT module so he could eliminate his rear turns as well. The wire coming out the LED strip makes mounting a little awkward but we hit it with a heat gun and just added some super glue and clamped it on while it dried.
