I just installed a set of 16" LA Choppers Treehugger handlebars on my 2013 Slim and wanted to show them off. Thought about doing a how to post for those thinking about doing a bar swap...it was not bad at all. Hope these pics post ok from my phone. I have a million pics, just picked thes 3, to post.
I saved up to do this, bought a little at a time and shopped for deals (for instance only $220 for the bars). The total investment for the bar swap and turn signal relocation was $512. It would have been cheaper if my bike was not ABS...also I bought new grips and poly riser bushings.
Do the bars slip at all? was wondering about their unique clamping system.
Also what brand of cables did you get? and are the bars just 16" with the short risers?
Thanks man
Put 900 miles on since the bar change and they have not budged. I used Drag Specialties poly riser bushings ( less than $10) and torqued to spec...rechecked torque after 100 miles or so. My driveway is steep so I have to push hard on bars when I push it in the shop ( no auto door opener) and they have not slipped yet.
Cables are Barnett and brake line is Goodridge. The bar and riser combo measures about 17" total rise and 16.25" final.
