Default New Rear Fender, DIY Heartland look on the Cheap

For those who don't want to shell out over $2k for the Heartland kit and are afraid to take a chance on the RSD seat dilemma, fear not, there is a cheap solution. If you have any fab skills and tools or a friend who does and will work for beer this may be for you.

I have about $250 in the project and was able to use my factory Brawler solo seat. I plan on painting the strut covers with wrinkle black and the fender John Deer Blitz Black when it warms up around here. Here's what i had to buy.

Custom Chrome "Hot Rod" rear fender PN 699899 off ebay $130
No School Choppers 33 Brake Light $50
Side Mount Plate Holder $35
Primer $10
Paint $20

If anyone is interested in a write up I'll take the time to do one.

I am interested. Never mind the fact that this is 3 years old. Picked up a 2007 Night Train and want to swap out the fender.

Been looking at this fender, does it fit outside the fender horns or inside?

there's some similar looking fenders with the struts built onto them on ebay for around a hundred bucks. if they keep the same angle to the seat it might be an easier solution.

i can’t see how the struts are any different on a 06-07 with the 200 rear tire
