condor pit stop wheel chock
From looking at the classifieds it's obviously that members of this forum know what something's worth, because nobody here is willing to give anything away.
I was at a guy's house the other day picking up a tour pak rack that I bought from him off craigslist. I noticed in the corner of his garage what appeared to be a Condor Pit Stop wheel chock.
Well seeing that he's moved to a trike, obviously he doesn't need a Condor Pit Stop to keep his bike upright.
I asked him about it and he said he'd forgotten he had it. I asked if he'd be willing to part with it and he said he'd think about it.
I just got an e-mail from him and he's willing to part with it for $195 which includes the trailer docking kit.
The best price I can find on-line is about $250 for the Condor Pit Stop and $25 for the the trailer docking kit.
I have two questions for you guys:
1) Is the Condor Pit Stop as good as it seems and can I safely just leave my Heritage parked in it while in my garage with no other hold downs.
2) Is a like new Condor Pit Stop with trailer docking kit worth $195?

Condor is one of the best chocks IMO. Saying that i don't know if that is a good price, i do know that i have been parking my bike in the garage for 11 years without a chock of any kind and NEVER had the bike tip over after placing the jiffy stand down. I have in the last two months added another bike and no tip over on the additional bike. I do have a Condor on my trailer and i can get off the bike without any tie downs but of course i do add them to move the trailer.

Well I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the Condor.
I'll have to be honest I believe the $40 Harbor Freight chock that I have does about as good a job as this $200+ Condor chock as far as holding the bike up in the trailer.

There's no doubt the Condor Chock is better made and is high quality but if all you're looking for is a chock to hold the bike up while you strap it down the HF chock works just as well.
I wll say, that I like how the Condor can be unmounted with only one bolt and then placed in the garage for parking the bike straight up. It does save a little bit of floor space due to the non-leaning of the bike.
In conclusion, if you need a chock only to hold the bike in a trailer until you tie it down I recomend the HF chock. However if you want a high quality chock that has two uses and you've got the money to spend the Condor is a great choice.
