Nice job on wrapping it but why not just get real carbon fiber done instead of cheap vinyl? I would worry about the vinyl fading, cracking and peeling with time especially on parts that get constant heat. I guess time will only tell. Looks killer though.

Looks good! I did the same thing with my console over the past winter and am quite happy with how it turned out and is holding up. I also did the gas cap and fuel guage dummy cap.. Not so fond of how they turned out and am looking at doing something else with those.

I have only had a Harley for a bit over a year now and was surprised at how Carbon Fiber hadn't really hadn't really made its way to Harleys yet. I hate using vinyl instead of the real stuff but this 3M vinyl looks and feels so real, and is so great to work with.

The "cheap vinyl" is the same material I had...excuse me, my sponsor wrapped my bass boat in and it held up just fine. This was an experimental project that has seemed to find more places to be applied. Besides, if it does peel, fade, or crack, I'm out a whopping $14.99 to reapply it.

I thought about doing the gas gauge and cap but I'm just gonna get the flush mount black led gauge and pop up cap to tie it in. I can apply the vinyl to the flush mount much easier.

I think that it is better, as the commitment isnt as big as spending a fortune on real carbon fiber when a couple years from now you may want to change it and you are only out a few dollars.
