Default 23'' fat spoke on heritage classic????anybody?

i know this topic has been discussed several times with mixed feelings..with the large amount of guys in my general area that are running 21s now i was wondering if anyone has actaully done the 23 dna fat spoke with success.i want something different..i see them all over the web for sale as a wheel and tire package(23x3.5..130/50/23) for a flstc..i want to keep the fl fender which i already know has to be lifted with some type of bracket.any info or preferably pics would be greatly appreciated thanks

Have seen a couple on softails but with no fender or tight minimalistic fenders. Lifting the fender will give clearance but it wont change the radius inside the fender so i too wonder if a 23 would fit in there.

Its fits right under the standard fender with no mods, I'm just about to order one in the next week or so, a member on here has one, I swapped some Pm's back and forth with him, and you have to go with the Vee rubber tyre cos it a 50 profile.

If you do lift the fender it will look out of place as well. For me personally 21" is the limit. Anything bigger is beyond what I need. 23"'s look great and I sell them all day long but not for my bike. I want to see a 23" under the stock fender. Post some pics when it's done thelawnmowerman.

I've seen a 23" under a Heritage/Deluxe front fender and it looks goofy because the radius of the fender is smaller than the 23" tire. IMO 21" is the max you can go without a custom fender to match the huge radius.

I know what your saying guys but from my understanding the actual outside radius of the tyre differs very little to the 21 due to the difference in profile of the tyre, I just went through my old pm,s and the member who had it was Hd-jesse.

The difference in profile is 20mm or .75" however the wheel is 1" taller on each side of the axle so it will be about .25" taller which is really not very much.

That doesn't look bad with the stock fender.

I stuck with a 21" to replace the 19" on mine. I can pretty much get a tire if needed on the road instead of being stuck waiting for over night shipping.
