Bought some Lava (supposed to look like carbon fiber, but looked more olive drab)wrap 50ft x 2" on E-bay. Removed cat convertors and stock exhaust. stuck a pipe in the ground that fit inside the tailpipe. Put exhaust over pipe, put gloves on and started wraping from back to front, overlaping by half as tight as possiable DRY. put a stainless hose clamp on both ends, Did not paint yet and after 700 miles still looks good, so probably won't. Cut stock heat shields and installed where leg goes over pipe.

Thanks man, something different to do till I get some money for different pipes. Sounds better with the Cats removed also. Should be interesting to see how it holds up. I've heard it causes some pipes to crack.

Not to talk it down, or make you change your mind, but if/when pipe wrap gets wet - it affects the metal underneath. I've seen riders w/rusted-through pipes from wrap so keep this in mind when deciding. Looks good - definitely has after-affect(s)...

I wrapped mine with DEI titanium wrap. Didn't need to wet it and was pretty straightforward with the pipes off.
