their is 2 bolts that hold the pads in. FYI they are 12 point bolts so you will need a 12 point socket

Shit! You don't split the caliper in half, do you?
2x 10mm head 12 points and 2x 1/4" 12 points pin

Red face

Don't know what you did but I just removed the caliper from fork leg and removed 2 12 point pad pins to remove pads. Hope you did not split the caliper into 2 pieces. You ought to buy a service manuel, good investment IMHO.

You should not have to split your caliper to remove the pads. The are two bolts to remove the caliper and two smaller bolts (pins) to remove the pads. If you remove the remaining two larger bolts still in the caliper you will split the caliper (as you have already figured out).

yeah i did split the caliper. removed two bolts holding the caliper on fork and removed the bolt i coulds see going through the pads. and then i still couldnt get them out, so i took the 1 remaing bolt out and the caliper split. and the pins your talking about, there are no pins. so how bad is it?? (spliting the caliper) ? ?
