I'm with you Ray. I myself am stock for the most part on my 07 Fatboy. The only thing I have had done to it was when I bought the bike I had them (h/d) put d&d slip-ons on it. I plan on getting a Stage 1 kit put on it and upgrade to V & H big shots on it and then have harley re-map it. I have been stold I should also invest in a power comander 3 or a race tunner? my question would be why??? I think if I have H/D remap it wo the stage 1 kit and pipes would'nt that be good enough? butI guess that's where I'm still learning?

Good luck

ray if I had it to do all over again I would definately go with the fishtails,I think they look best on a deluxe. as far as the a/c goes, big sucker with the chrome backing plate and H-Ds round nostalgic cover. The h.d download works,Ive got it. the power commander works better,I got it later. save the 150.00 for the download and apply it to the power commander. just my opinion. what part of ole ms. are you located?

What length are those pipes, 23.5 or 28.5?

I live in Jackson, actually Brandon. Are you from the area?

I need to check out this round HD cover.... Sounds like the PCIII is the way to go.... Now is the program idiot proof or am I going to have to hire someone to operate it????

ski, I am still learning about this also. I just let the HD that I purchased from do all the work. I know I could have saved some $$, but its still under warranty and since I bought it there I felt like more at ease.

I don't believe HD can tune a bike without an HD race tuner. If I understand this correctly you can get a Power Commander and upload available maps or have it dyne-tuned. The HD controller isn't mounted on the bike it is used during tuning to set up the bikes computer. I was told that cables and software could be purchased and the HD race tuner can be installed and used to record while riding. The data could then be downloaded to a laptop, manipulated and uploaded to the bike. I am not sure if this is all correct I am still looking into all of this.

Im from senatobia (abought 30miles south of memphis)as far as the power commander is concerned check out fuel moto they are a site sponsor and they will program the unit with your bikes specs before they send it to you.

How does dyno tuning play in: do you need to have a pcIII first and then dynotune or dynotune just replaces whole self tuning process?

How much are dynotunes?

Ray,
I agree with Mike. Look at Fuel Moto, talk to Jamie if you have questions. I would go with the PC V as it is smaller and is a little more updated then the III.

As for the dyno tune, some are about $300 (at least here in FL). Do you need it, it is up to you but you can have Jamie build you a map and you a tweak it with a laptop. A dyno tune will dial the bike it for max performance. I have had my PC V for almost a year with no issues but plan on a dyno tune after I change out my cams.
