Default Fat Boy Cut Rear Fender

Well its getting colder and my weekends will be busy of upgrading the garage with some fresh paint paint and a new floor but before i do all that ..... i would like to start look at a another bike project. Has anyone cut there back fender? If so did you send it out ?Or do it yourself? I am pretty handy just have a bunch a of questions before i start making sparks

Will you be lowering the rear too? I would think it would look sort of dorky with the large amount of space between the top of the tire and the fender. I guess I am assuming you will be chopping it up high around 12 o'clock or there abouts.
A buddy of mine did this to a 90 softail and regretted it, ended up buying a new replacement fender.

Yes i have already lowered the rear. I was hoping to see if anyone else had done this but it looks like evryone else maybe interested but may have never done this.

Default Did it to an 89 Fatboy

brian2762@hotmail.comI will send you the pics Asap, i cut it into a hounds tooth to match a custom seat i built I also welded and redrilled it to lower it looed good, got alot of love at the shows, fire away with any questions....

Thanks Jed, Same to you, Very Clean and simple, the lowering made all the differance in apperance, How does it ride, I'm installing Progressive lowering links on a softail right now for a customer and he has some questions about how it might ride.

As long as you stiffen the preload it will ride fine. With the preload all the way soft ie. stock it will bottom out easily.
