I had one of those put on the back of my Fat Boy last weekend, and that's what I paid. If I wasn't leaving on a 1600 mile trip as quick as I am, I would have ordered online. What I don't understand is why Dunlop doesn't make an E3 in that size
The $197 is MSRP for the HD labeled 407 rear. If the dealer moves a lot of them, they'll sell them cheaper since they will get a better price from Dunlop. Some dealers will do the install for free if you buy the tire from them, otherwise if you walk in off the street with your rim and tire, they will charge you for at least 30 minutes of labor to mount and balance the tire. Your $144 tire you got off of the net now cost you about the same as buying it from the dealer.

Thanks gaffney. The 2009 hd parts and accessories catelog state the price of $191.95 for the subject tire and more than likely there has been a minor increase in the last half of this year with 2010 coming out. No doubt, if you call all the dealers you'll get the same quote...the book. My parts guy behind the counter is who i deal with as he always gives me 10% off most everthing and 15% off others. So when i told him my on line price 0f $144 plus shipping he bascially matched it. Why wouldn't i buy it! So i got a deal...

Harley dealers don't buy HD Dunlops from Dunlop - they buy them from Harley.
$144 thats not the 205 is it? Thats what I have on now. Got 6500 miles on center whith plenty of chicken strips left. I change my own tire so no worry there. The 205 I got from www.jakewilson.com for $136 and free shipping. I'm no stranger to different types of compound because I used to ride sportbikes. Anybody looked at DUNLOP ROADSMART 200/50ZR-17 REAR @ www.americanmototire.com ?
