Open drive won't create a performance advantage, however, if your motor is pretty juiced up then its the way to go. Because it has become a fad, there a ton of crap on the market that is all show.

I plan on getting an open primary. I also have 3 kids under 6. So what is the danger? I mean, there is obviously a danger if the motor is running, but if the motor is running, that means I am sitting on the bike. The kids dont come near the bike when I start it, and when I come home, I park it in the street until the pipes cool down.

So is there a danger when the bike is just sitting there? Will the belt move manually with the engine off? Are there belts that stay locked when the engine is off?

The belt could grab the bottom of your pants and pull them right in. They look cool, but not worth the money to me. My regular primary works just fine.

I have had a bike with an open primary. Usually it just gives your pant leg a good tug, and then lets go. Wakes you up in the morning better than coffee. I like the look, and while I'm at it, it will give me a chance to axe the spongy Harley clutch and replace it with a more responsive one.

What about the kids/safety issue I mentioned above?

The one from Exile that the OP was talking about is very cool. It's all open, except for the front which has what looks like, (coincidentally) a pants leg guard on it. They make some of the coolest bikes. Your boy from England knows what he's doing, but MAN is he pricy.

Dont I know it!

Sorry for the insult bro. I thought the hostilities were over. lol

Side note: Take a look at his "Hot Rod" bike, Cameron. He vulcanized those 200s to make them white walls. If you are still interested in getting WW's, he's probably the guy to go to.
