I have a 1993 heritage softail FLSTN Model. I want to put the V&H 16739 true dual exhaust
system on it. But the left side of the bike does not have any drilled or tapped mounting holes for the bottom bracket. Has anyone out there ran in to this problem and actually
attempted to drill and tap a couple of holes? Any information would be appreciated
thanks.

No, but I sure wouldn't just drill a hole anywhere in the frame,, Not good..
Do some really good research before proceeding on..
that is exactly why i have started this thread. I have even been in contact with a
V & H tech and he stated "Theorectically" if I did trace the location of the bolt holes
from the bottom v & h bracket to the frame that it should fit...
But before i made a large investment i still am doing more research.
thanks!
Is it a Heritage (FLSTC) or a Deluxe (FLSTN)?? That's step one.... Sounds like to me that particular part# is incorrect as if you have to make mods to the frame to accommodate pipes, then they weren't made for that model... also sounds like V&H was "unsure" if they would fit too...or maybe you just got someone who wasn't knowledgeable with older bikes?

I agree with the above poster...an FLSTN is NOT a Heritage Softail.

here you go see 1993 flstn heritage softail nameplate
Ok...still not a Heritage softail regardless of what your nameplate says. They are two different motorcycles and obviously something is wrong because your pipes don't fit.

By the way, congrats on the low number. Just a thought, but advising V&H of your bike might help since it apparently is rare.
That is odd...never heard of it.
It appears to be the Deluxe (FLSTN) chassis....so if you ordered the Heritage Softail (FLSTC) exhaust then that appears to be the issue but Cheif is giving good advice....I'd call V&H and see what they can offer for advice.
I would suspect that you have an FLSTC exhaust that you are trying to put on an FLSTN chassis.....regardless of what it's called.
Let us know how it turns out....definitely a new one on me.
