Looking to order a DG seat and got a question about the gel, have been told that the gel was a bad idea (distortion of the seat in summer and really hard in winter)
Second question i'm 5'8" do you think that I will be seatting to much further back from controls?
I realize the post is from June, but I am responding to the first question. The gel used in the Danny Gray seat is not a liquid gel, which has the problems you listed, it is a viscolastic dry polymer. You will find that the Danny Gray will not distort the seat in summer or become really hard in winter.

Can I ask what you did to modify the frame caps? I've got the DG seat but have had the caps sitting in my toolbox for the last few months. Not too sure how I will fit them given the seat bolt is in the way. I'd like to know what you did before I butcher mine.
