Question Elusive D407's

It's about time to get new tires for the scoot, and i've have been seaching all over the internet but the only place to get the D407F MH-90 and the D407 200/55-17" is at the damn stealers. Has anyone found them any other place?

having the same problem. everyone keeps trying to sell me the 205's and i understand they don't wear as long as the 407s. This really sucks. Im on my third set in 16000 miles.which is an average of 8000 a tire. By the time the stealer sells and mounts them ya looking at 325.00 Just for the back tire. If you find a place cheaper let me know.

A good indy shop can get you the D407's but then; why?.. I got a whopping 3500 miles out of my back tire so I went with the Dunlop Elite 3's and I really like them.. Better grip and ride and the price was right.. My back is a 240/40/18 and my local indy got it from Drag and sold it to me for $170, installed for $230 with everything ... There are places online that had that same tire for $155 but then add in shipping plus it's kinda a pimpy to show up someplace with your own tire and ask them to mount it..

Tire in my sig pic is the D407 that came on it.. I'm now running the Elite 3 from Dunlop.. Had it out in a downpour last week and it work real good.. Great traction on dry pavement and the tread has a nice profile to it..

i had the elite 1 on my gold wing in 1983 and loved them. great mileage. i think metzler is best for traction but the new dunlop for 2009 has hard center and soft sidewalls.
