Tires (Dunlop® Harley-Davidson Series, bias blackwall front and radial blackwall rear):

o Rear - D407 240/40R18
it seems like it was a mid year change because someone got the pattern backwards but no one will admit

I can't get them (dealer nor HD) to warranty mine. Had to pay for new ones myself.

I bought an '09 softail custom in June 09 with 3 miles on the bike. It is now Nov 09 and my Dunlop D407 rear tire is almost bald. I have never spun the rear tire out, but I do fast take offs. Im not sure that this tire should be almost bald. Im at 4800 miles on the bike soo far. I would appreciate some advice here.

4800 to 10k depending on a lot of factors. i road my original 10k and there was no tread pattern. i am trying the dunlop roadsmart tire now 5k and about half gone. they have great soft sides and dont slide in the rain. they some and they are cheap

When I needed a new rear tire for my fatboy I ordered it from Latus HD in Oregon. I think it was $154 and free shipping. Local tire shop put it on and balanced it for $30. $185 ( Latus charged $1 something for handeling) I had a new rear tire installed. It was a D407 200/55/17. I got around 7400 miles out of my first on. Our roads suck around here and another fellow told me I was probaly taking off to hard. Anyway I went back with the D407 because of the tread pattern.
