Great thread. My bike is at the dealer right now with the same issues.
No idle and speedo goes out, turn signals won't cancel.
07 Train with just under 20,000 miles.
I'll post up again when I hear back from them.

I had the same issue last summer and the speed sensor was the cause. I called the HD cust service line and they told the dealer to replace the sensor as they are having issues with them

Thanks.
I stopped by the Dealer today and checked on the bike.
Service guy tried to tell me what they did to it.
Remember I'm in Okinawa and I don't speak Japanese.
He said they did need to test ride it and I should get it back tomorrow.
I just hope the Manager that speaks English is working tomorrow so he can tell me what the heck they did to it.
Great folks, great service, just a language barrier.
I have developed a frustrating problem recently. Every once in awhile, always at a stop, the engine will act like it is dying, as if idle is set too low (my bike is an '02 EFI). When it does this, I have to keep a little bit of throttle on it to keep the engine from completely dying. It doesnt do this all the time. It first started earlier this year when I brought the bike out after winter. I thought maybe the gas had gone bad. Havent had a problem until just today. Seems like the bike, or idle, "resets" itself if I turn off the bike and start it again. If not, it will keep idling extremely low at stop.. to the point that the engine dies. Again, it doesnt do this all the time, just once in awhile. Any ideas?
Bike Specs:
2002 Fatboy EFI
PCIII
Stock ECM
Arlen Ness Big Sucker
My bike would randomly idle slow and want to stall. Have an '08. Did it maybe 4 times last year and did it 3 times since I broke it out this year. Now haven't done it the last two rides

On the older EFI systems it "might" just be that the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) is not reading properly. Crud built up on the throttle plate can cause this by not letting it close properly. The TPS says the throttle isn't completely closed, because it isn't. But the airflow is because of the crud and the engine dies.
Pull the AC off and use a flashlight, some spray carb cleaner, and an old tooth brush to clean the throttle plate (be sure you get the edges clean) and throttle body throat out.
Then take it out for a good run and see if it runs any better. If the TPS is really screwed up nothing should change and its time to head for the dealer or a reliable indy.
If its just crud build up the "problem" should disappear and the engine will idle more like it used to.

Well, got my bike back.
Best I could figure out was they cleaned all the electrical connections, used electrical grease and put everything back together.
No fault codes and everything seemed ok when they test rode it.
Did a pretty decent ride yesterday and she ran great most of the time.
She never cut out on me but the speedo stopped working just as I got home.
Rode to work the next morning and all was fine.
BTW, I do have a PC III, S/E intake and V&H SSS.
Change the speed sensor, thats the issue, I went thru the same thing last summer, it took 3 weeks to resolve the issue with the dealer. They have had issues with them now for years.

Thanks much.
I'm a believer after seeing all these posts.
Problem: I have about 2 months left on my warranty, how do I get the Dealer here to cover it?

If they are persistent and not going to do it, try calling HD Corporate like previous stated, I have yet to have to do this, but it seems that people have had luck with that route.
