Default prepaid maintanence

Did you/would youbuy prepaid maintanence from your local dealer? A friend of mine bought it and is very happy because it covers all of his oil changes, 1000/5000/etc scheduled maint visits, and also covers tires.

what do you think?

Didn't buy it, probably not a bad idea if your not going to do it yourself. Didn't like the idea of paying interest on the service plan. I got the tire deal when I bought my bike just as an incentive.

that is true. oce you start payinginterest on a ppm you are paying more than if you would just take it in when it is due.

At the dealer I am getting my 1k mile service done at next week offers a prepaid maintenance at a discount. The thing is it is either 2 years 20k miles @ $872 or 3 years 30k miles @ $1530. I won't ride enough to pay for it. I will also be doing my own service after this initial service anyway.

My dealer offers a 3yr unlimited mileage. For some reason only 30 mos on tires, and brake pads are not covered at all.
I also get same day service as long as bike is there by 9am. I plan to ride enough to pay for it and so far it's working out that way. 5,000 miles in 4 months.

It never got offered to me, but the dealer I bought the bike from would be to far to go for a service anyway.

Since I'm retired, the weather and chores around the ranch are the only things that keep me from riding. In my case, it's a good buy. For the poor working stiff that I used to be, it probably wouldn't have been worth it because I had to ride a commuter train to work from a station only 2 miles from the house.
