Thanks Guys! Nice Bike Mac! Exactly the look I'm shooting for! The ABS I can live without, because I'm going for the ideal bobber look. One thing I'm concerned about is throwing of codes too. These new Harleys are so complicated. I definitely want to keep the stock height or even slam it an inch or 2 if possible. When I mentioned it to a guy at a dealership, he made it sound like it was a major deal. Here's a pic of what I would like to do:
It's no major deal. If you can swing a spanner, and read a manual, you'll do it yourself no worries. Any dramas, just get on here an put the questions up, I'm sure one of us will be able to help you out.
Can't help you on the ABS though, I'm not familiar with that area.
That bike looks killer, that's a good point to aim for. How much money are you willing to spend? In all honesty, a WL replica would be the bees knees on your slim, it would be the icing on the cake for that old bobber feel the slims have. Not a cheap option though. If money was an issue, then your slim would still look great with an after market springer
i guess the whole idea I have is to replicate something of a bobber built from a late 40's knucklehead to an early panhead. But with modern stuff and the performance of the 103 twin cam. Has anyone had any experience with those Xzotic rocker box covers? I like the knuckles they make. Older threads say they have leak issues. So do some Harley techs. Rumor or truth? They run 700.00 so it'd be nice to know for the money spent that they are reliable.

I'm not familiar with those rocker box's but realistically, if they can design a rocker box, and have the machines to make it then I don't see how they could be consistent in fuvking up the flat joining surfaces causing it to leak. At worst if you ever got a leak from this area, a bit of gasket sealant would fix this.
This is exactly what i'm looking to do on a long term basis! Keep the 110ci and olive/gold color scheme but everything else will look exactly as the pictures.
Don't mind my messy garage but I was going a similar direction with my crossbones. If you haven't noticed I have a springer addiction...I have owned three bikes with springer front ends and another one is in the works.
I have a very very strong opinion about replica rocker boxes...if you want a pan or knuck then buy one.
What do you guys think of this set up? It's a crossbones, but has the same handlebars as a Slim, set up on a springer front end. At least I would have to change the handle bars which I like. I wouldn't rise as much as in this case tho. Now I'm starting to wonder if I can remount the stock brake caliper with ABS. It would probably save a boat load of cash too. Any thoughts?
